To see the licenses, use the User Count Administrator (Start | Programs | Pervasive | Utilities) at the server. That should show you what licenses (if any) are installed. I can't remember exactly how they shipped the license, but usually there's a floppy with the install CD that contains the license. The license file is always named UCMGR.KEY, which might aid your search. To install a license, you use the Add button in the User Count Administrator and point it to the location of the above file. In case it helps, I've attached a 10-User, 30-day trial license. I downloaded V8 release candidate and installed it and got the Storefront created but because I could not get P2000 to run or work seems I lost for now all the data. Can someone provide and export of all the data so I can populate the tables I'll produce as SQL2000 version and see what I can do about a MySQL version for Mac and PC and maybe even Sybase. -- Dan Stein Digital Software Solutions 799 Evergreen Circle Telford PA 18969 Land: 215-799-0192 Mobile: 610-256-2843 Fax 413-410-9682 FMP, WiTango, EDI,SQL 2000 [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.dss-db.com > From: Dan Stein <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Date: Fri, 11 Oct 2002 19:12:46 -0400 > To: Multiple recipients of list witango-talk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Re: Witango-Talk: StoreFront > > It would be really useful to the list if someone were to generate a sQL > steps to build the storefront DB in MySQL and SQL2000 and then pull over the > data and put it up somewhere. Re: Witango-Talk: ID field in response to new record
We use the record_ID to retrieve a record after an insert in the same run through the TAF (think a scope of Local), but no where else. For relationships we use Auto Entered serial numbers and carry them through to the records in the related db. That way you can set up the same relationships in FMP and see related records in Portals. Many of our solutions have both a web and FMP user interface. One reason the record_ID may change on compression is that I think FileMaker re-serialises the record_ID on compression. If you've deleted records and record_ID is contiguous compression will change them to be contiguous. Yes, and before it was the killer app. for connecting Butler.SQL via First Class (we have done a lot with) But today it's name is "Witango" The Store Front was a free give away from Pervasive. So, just install a Trial version of P.SQL (Server or Workstation) and you you can use it. mit freundlichen Gr|_en, with best regards Daniel Richardy European Witango Distributor __ SoftDes GmbH - St. Georgener Strasse 13 - D 79111 Freiburg Web: www.softdes.deMail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Phone: +49 - 761 - 4 555 666 Fax: +49 - 761 - 4 555 660 _ www.witango.net ___ - Original Message - From: "Steve Smith" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Multiple recipients of list witango-talk" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, October 11, 2002 10:26 PM Subject: RE: Witango-Talk: StoreFront > Tango 1.0 was released almost 7 years ago by EveryWare Development Inc. > > Steve Smith > > Skadt Information Solutions > Office: (519) 624-4388 > GTA:(416) 606-3885 > Fax:(519) 624-3353 > Cell: (416) 606-3885 > Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Web:http://www.skadt.com > > Former Pervasive employee > Former EveryWare employee > Still a lover of Tango... > Still a lover of Butler... > Now a lover of Witango Version 5.0! > > > > > -Original Message- > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Fogelson, Steve > > Sent: October 11, 2002 3:36 PM > > To: Multiple recipients of list witango-talk > > Subject: RE: Witango-Talk: StoreFront > > > > > > Sorry for the dumb question. Witango-Talk: Pervasive.SQL
A single user Pervasive.SQL windows personal engine costs $25 list price. Though the database is not XML format like Witango TAFs, it provides transparent portability across Linux, Windows, NetWare and Solaris platforms. No Mac, though. I like the database for many reasons and I would happy to take that discussion offline. Important note: When you deploy a single user engine, or unlimited user server engine (12 grand) with any webserver or through any web appserver, you need to pay Internet License fee ($2,500). I am not too thrilled with that, but those are the rules. If you only use the engines for only yourself, the license fee is not applicable. Regarding moving the PSQL demo db tables to a different db, you may be able to link the databases in MS Access and import export the tables relatively painlessly. Has anyone integrated a tango application with either the FedEx or Airborne API's. If anyone has been down this path, I would love to share information. I developed a FedEx interface years ago that needs to be replaced. Both vendors now seem to have a variety of alternatives for interfacing both shipping and tracking functions. Any thoughts or ideas appreciated. Hi, I'm affraid to say that an odbc driver isn't enought, you need the database server, maybe you can hit pervasive.com and download a trial version of SQL? Hope this help Gauthier -Message d'origine- De: "Fogelson, Steve" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> A: Multiple recipients of list witango-talk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: 11/10/02 Objet: RE: Witango-Talk: StoreFront Sorry for the dumb question. About all I know about Pervasive from reading the list is that they originally started Tango. I'm trying to come up with the ODBC drivers to bring up StoreFront. Are these available? If so, how can I get hold of them? Also, is there a specific version , I would need to access StoreFront. RE: Witango-Talk: Pervasive.SQL
Dan, IIRC, T2K for Windows shipped with a 2-User P.SQL 2000 Server Engine for NT/2000. What now? It used to work I know because I've looked at storefront demos before. RE: Witango-Talk: WiTango Causing Reverse DNS Lookup in IIS?
Nathan, By default, IIS does not resolve the remote IP, because as you're seeing, it adds a massive overhead to every single hit. In IIS, for some bizarre reason, there's no GUI to turn this on and off; it has to be done using CLI. See: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q245574 Jon -Original Message- From: Nathan Hitchcock [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 11 October 2002 6:28 To: Multiple recipients of list witango-talk Subject: Witango-Talk: WiTango Causing Reverse DNS Lookup in IIS? We've got an interesting issue with a WiT2K, IIS 5.0 server. The visitor's IP address in the IIS logs are being resolved, and it appears to be effecting the server's performance greatly. A three hour support call to Microsoft resulted in the removal of Tango WebAnalyzer and WebTrends (although both services were disabled), as well as a few other items. However the DNS resolution continues. Having nothing else to point the finger at, MS thinks it's the WiTango service. I told him "no way" because none of our other WiTango boxes are doing it, but I can only say it with mild conviction because this is the only one running IIS 5.0. Anyone out there know if WiTango could be causing the reverse DNS lookup?
