I know that a lot of people here run or have run labels and pressed their
own records, I would like to start a thread about vinyl pressing
plants..quality and how they compare to each other..It is kind of hard to
collect information on the net about prices and quality of pressing and I
know of
I agree pretty much completely with what Adam said, except I feel forced
to put in a good word for Aardvark- Paul at Aadrvark is the man. He
does a great job mastering records and because he does it as a hobby,
it's way cheaper than most other places.
My pressing experiences with Archer are
Damn, I second this. Excellent gig, no glowsticks,
whistles, or attitude. This was one of those events
that make it all worthwhile. Plus he seems like a
really down to earth guy which is good. Excellent
supporting dj's too, not usually the case for a lot of
internationals. I'm glad he didn't play
internationals. I'm glad he didn't play the big gig
the next day with laurent, josh wink, ritchie, plus
I'm not glad! That was the only chance to see the guy in Sydney! Bah...

Atlas is across the street from a strip club, so I don't think it's Atlas. I
had by far the longest pitch I've ever heard to enter that club when I was
just trying to find Atlas. :)

It was political reasons among promoters (or so I suspect) that meant that
SK didn't play elsewhere, esp Melbourne, but I can't discuss those. It
wasn't lack of interest but I suspect SK wasn't offered to interested
parties, so that is the way it goes.
No, I suspect why and it's so dumb you wouldn't believe, and I just can't
say. Again there was and still is interest from people who want to do it and
would do it well.
If GV busted out the new Vestax, that'd be one thing. I doubt it's marketed

I think if we've figured anything out from this ongoing thread, it's that it

Oh, and for the record: my new mix isn't as good as I thought it was. Per
the usual, I figured this out _after_ I got it online. But for a first run
through it's still the best I've done,
Yeah too bad he didn't make it to the other cities. I guarantee he would get
a loving crowd here. I am glad he got a nice welcome but he deserves better.
But then again it's just as well someone with no love for Detroit/UR didn't
do it.

I have seen St Germain perform twice this last summer. The musicians

the performance is rather short (45 minutes). At their Lowlands gig they

Atlas is on Archer Street and Eukatech is on Endell Street. They always seem

I have a copy of the Mr. Fingers compilation Amnesia which, instead of
having side 1 with Can U Feel It/Beyond The Clouds/Washing Machine, has what
sounds like a Buddy Holly styled thing going on. (So I'm stuck with the
recycled pair of trainers that is my Trax copy for them.) There'll be some
Johnny Fiasco remixes of Conduction on Tonic Records. On the original
pressing you will find your usual remixes on one side. But on the other
side, containing the original version, you will find two hip hop songs. So
far I have met two people who were convinced that Conduction was

I also have a copy of this mispress with MC Hammer;-) I always thought

Hey all,
I'm leaving for a business trip to Woodbridge NJ, which I understand is very

places to check out?? Anyone willing to hang for a bit??

Mispresses mean that they pulled out the wrong metal mother for
one side or the other (or both). You can't press an already pressed
record on one side, as was implied.
To press a record, you start with a blob of molten vinyl, which gets squished
between the metal mothers. The extra vinyl which
