Detroit.
I have been listening to techno for about 5 yearsand for the past 2
years have been going to those so called RAVES (to see DJs I like)and
would like to know what the parties where like back when they

years. I for one will attempt to enjoy alton miller and also all the
local dj's I'll be checking out.

Detroit techno had its own characteristic sound

I believe Chuck does the layout of the sleeves for UR. Abdul is UR's
artist, responsible for most of their label designs... notably:
Vintage Future ep, original Jagaur ep and a whole bag of others.

things going on in 1988-92 in Detroit (OK, *three* things including the

Saw DJ Assault at Fabric (new superclub in east London) last night. I missed
the Pubahs because of the ridiculous queue outside in 26 degree weather,
about 50 of us waited for nearly 45 minutes to get in.
Assault was good, but seemed fairly upset which usually (from personal
experience) means
I know John Howard pretty well. He normally plays very jazzy house,
pretty swinging stuff.
John has also been sometime columnist for XLR8R magazine.

My wife and I are planning on coming into Detroit for tonight's (Saturday's)
Jaun Atkins show at Motor, and then going to the NYE show at motor on
Sunday. I would like to meet up with some 313ers while i am in the area. I
