Hi all,
May I have your help/advice please: I need to
repair/replace my cd player, and supplement my
stereo in general.
Does anyone know a good and reliable JBL and
Harman/Kardon dealer in London? Yellow pages,
I know - but a personal recommendation would
be greatly appreciated. : )
Thanks for

afraid the info i have is limited. the duo behind hot lizard were
responsible for the british label pacific, which is now, unfortunately,
defunct. artists such as ian o'brien, sunrise society, charles webster and

Just to add to this.
One of my favourite tracks of all time is Big Air by
Hot Lizard. The Theme doesn't even come close.
Again, remixes by Carl Craig, Stacey Pullen and...
and.. no it has slipped my mind. Anyway it is a
fantastic track and everybody should own a copy.

Just to correct a couple of details: Hot Lizard were Nottingham DJs Paul
Wain and Gary Marsden while Pacific was owned by Justin Deighton. Justin has
a new mix CD coming out on a label called Product Deluxe (which I am
guessing he owns now instead of Pacific) that includes 'The Theme', so maybe
whoops! should check me facts. but i do know the theme was re-released on
that new label product deluxe with new remixes (i think, but wouldn't bet my
life on it) - and without the c craig remix. doubt we'll see the likes of
claude young or sterac doin' remixes for this new label, if the theme
When was this 12 released?

the original release was: phortune (dj pierre) on hot mix 5 from 1988 with
string free on the flip.
ca you feel the bass is also included on the hot mix 5 acid comp that was also
released on jack trax.
there's a copy of the single on the shelves at sonic groove for $20. but you can
find the comp
All,
Does anyone know of a good source of info on KMS? I know of the discography
on techno.org but that is a bit limited. Any recommendations from the back
catalogue? Also, can anyone tell me the connection between KMS and Network
(which seems to have released a lot of KMS in the UK). Anyone got
Network was run by ex Northen Soul DJ Neil Rushton who also ran Kool Kat and
was largley responsible for bringing Detroit techno to the UK. He was heavily
involved with Dereck, Kevin and Juan right back in the day and licensed a lot
of the old Transmat/KMS/Metroplex catalogue as well as
years ago, frankie bones did an acid remix of rock to the beat (on a belgium
label, with a track called saigon nightmare on the flip). it has a very
pronouced 303 and samples of people chanting 'aced!'.

I went to the agents of change party.
it was 35 bux to get in, and a short wait.
the venue was nice, not too loud like the Control party a couple months ago,
but the sound system lacked mids if you ask me (you didn't) nice lights and
balloons and all that neato stuff that you can't listen to.
Good show. First time seeing May and Mills. May played real good minimal
tracks, but too much disco for my taste.
The system sounded really good. I could tell during May's set that there were
problems with the center ttable (there were three).
Jeff Mills' hands appear as those of a robot.
And what a label it is !
Product Deluxe has released some of my alltime fav tracks
check Eastside Movement PD003
it includes some very fine samples from the cult album Mind Warp from

Does anyone know of anything exciting happening at Buzz, or anywhere else in
DC for that matter, the weekend of December 7 (which happens to be
approximately a week and a half from today)? I'll be staying with a good
friend until Sunday and would love to take advantage of whatever may be on
Hmm. . . Not much. . . d.c. cd's on 18th and u(?) has a small selection.
It's not their specialty, but i've found some interesting things there.
There's another store whose name i forget. . . it's on connecticut less
than a block north of dupont circle. I don't think they carry vinyl, but

there's yoshi toshi in georgetown and 12 dance (mostly house hip hop) at
dupont circle on 18th street, i think... jeez... my memory of dc is foggy
after only one year...
i love 12... course i'm the biggest house head EVER.

Well, what did everyone else think of the party?
I was very impressed by the music and the venue, but I felt the crowd was
almost unattentive.. My girlfriend Allison I were up neard the front around
3:30 when Jeff went on, and we were astounded at the number of people just
standing around.
so it sounds as if the mills event was alright. why is that. i have seen
mills in many spots and he is killer on 3 tables with not many wrecks but it
seems both times he plays detroit he is just mediocre. at least you could see
his table this time.
any others seen mills numerous times and
