In the January 2002 issue of Black Diaspora magazine there is an article on
Detroit. No mention of techno but a basic history of the city. It's a short
article but it's cool because it's the travel feature for the issue.

Hey, I want to get more of the deep dubby stuff on CD (or mp3's). I have
the Maurizio, Vainqueur, Decay Product, and Deep Chord CD's. That's
pretty much it for store bought CD's. On order, I bought Fluxion: Vibrant
Forms II, and the self titled Rhythm and Sound CD. I found out about
Rythym
I've really enjoyed Stephen Betkke's 'Pole' series - really deep germanic
electro dub. It has more reverb than you can shake a stick at.

Forms II, and the self titled Rhythm and Sound CD. I found out about
Rythym and Sound because I was listening to this mp3 mix and it dropped
Rhythm and Sound's Imprint in the middle of the set. It was the deepest
dubbiest thing I've heard!--and thankfully the playlist was posted so I'd
know who
It's so interesting the way different people hear the same things
differently.
The first 20 minutes of Scion's set from the DEMF 1 is some of the most
ridiculously beautiful music I've ever heard - but when Tikiman comes out
the energy just kinda dissipates for me. I love the sound of his voice,

I think I must have almost all of their releases, and they're all absolutely
great, in this techno/dubby/housey vein ;for those interested in checking
these guys out, their double-CD comp is very well done (RSW 1987-1995) and
they released everything on Mute

That reminds me of thier wicked old album Renegade Soundwave in DUB from about
12 years back. I remember there was one absolutly amazing track that I can
quite recall... transcendental something or other and 'thunder' which was also
excellent. I remember the great thing about that album was
I have recently come across Twilight Circus who is producing great dub, a
little like the berlin kind, but less digital and mainly instrument based.
He plays all the instruments himself. I don't think that he's been
mentioned before on this list. Go and check it out:

Perlon has a compilation out that is in the Berlin minimal house/dubby
house vein - it's called Superlongetivity. Not sure if it's available on
CD. Also look into Savvas Ysatis' Select on Tresor. What you are looking
for is actually instrumental reggae because there is no dub without the
brommage dub on svek (the first one, not the second) is the bomb. if you want to
hear it it comes in at 24 minutes on my house mix at
http://www.jbucknell.com/sounds.htm. (that's an accapella by arthur baker over
the top, it's not on the svek release)
also check out stuff on mosaic records, some

Main street #5 sounds right up your alley although it has some vocals.
pole 2 and 3 or great as well.

That's Tresor, as far as I remember there were two albums, recently
re-released as a double-CD... I agree this is excellent, weird stuff.

I always take mine as carry-on and have never had a problem. My case is a
smaller one though with a capacity of only 50 or so. I've heard several
other international DJ's that do the same practice because of past
experiences or horror stories (Stanny Franssen, Nigel Richards, Rob Hood,
ect.).
the track is 'hit and run' by loleatta holloway remixed by walter gibbons on
gold mind records which is maybe a sublabel of salsoul. it's from around 1977.

Take them on the plane. DO NOT trust the airport. I take mine on as a
carry-on EVERY TIME, especially international. I use to take my flight case
on, but it's kind on hard to fit in the over heads but sometimes you can get a
way with putting it under the seat in front of you. Then your legs
BPM is doing a Top 10 DJs thang for its WMC issue with each scoring a

Let's make sure some credible non prog trance UK DJs get some love this

Just listening to the Theo Parrish mix on the front page
www.deephousepage.com and I'm wondering what all these tracks are:
1. The 2nd track at approx: 2mins, e.g., with vibes.
2. The New Wavish tune (tie me down, tie me down) at: 18mins approx.
3. One after Concrete Jungle at, say, 38 mins.
Well, when I go to the page my cursor arrow disappears so I can't see if
I'm even near selecting the djs I like! Anyone know how I can fix this?
I've refreshed the page several times but no luck. I could always just get
close but I don't want to pick the wrong dj. Where is this webpage made
Hey James,
I've been back and forth from Detroit a few times filling up with
about 80-100 records on my visit. The first time I came back to
Sydney via NYC, Washington, Las Vagas, San Fran and LA. The second
time was pretty much direct and have never had any problem with my
records.
