A minidisc with 88 tracks.
When you play it, you put the MiniDisc
player in random mode and allowed it to remix the 88 tracks.
Always random, always different...
Has anyone tried this??

Not techno, but very much the sound of Detroit... I stumbled across this
wicked recent live set by Tribe Records jazz man Phil Ranelin online
yesterday, recorded on WDET shortly before the reissues of Ranelin's albums

it's on vinyl as well
i wasn't really impressed with it

i recently found the same record. (in australia of all places, a country not
usually known for it's high quality obscure detroit gems sitting around in
second hand stores)--it's deep deep piano house, quite melodic and maybe a
little 'sweet and pretty' sounding for some. there's one stand out

Apparantly their first original album in over ten years (?). They have
really taken things back to the roots of house with this album anyway,
except for the track that the website has a sample of - my least
talkin about them, dont u guys agree with me that those other 430w
formations as never on sunday or random noise generator release more
interesting music than the regular Octave One formation??

Apparently it's already found its way onto the net. The bits I've heard are
really good. There's some tracks with more of a traditional jazz structure
than I've heard from Blaze before, or maybe just more live musicians. Some
of it is a little too cookie-cutter Blaze deepness with lamentations

rather underwhelming response was:

However, he also admitted that he hasnt even listened to the new track that

Hi Berislav,
I only know of one aka for Eddie Fowlkes: Detroit Soul Project. The track I
know is : Detroit Is A Ghetto out on Pan records, UK, 1998, although, I'm
told there were others.
Of course, EF did 'Sex In Zero Gravity' with the Martian, apparently. To me
it sounds nothing like his style.
The Red Wings brought the Cup back home, I guess it's gonna be partytime

This is a nice one! And in Vegas too! :-)
One thing I wish they would have is an 'in' towards the movie industry
where movies houses can license music from indie electronic/dance labels.
Nonetheless, its looks like a great conference.

with the final basic channel record it was time to retire the label after

Now that the most stressful period of the working day is over, I'll add some

I'd add a question about whether or not they've ever been approached to do
film soundtrack work, and, if not, if their approach to their music has had
a visual aspect to it; to me, each BC release evokes strong

Ask about the re-release of all the wonderful Wackies material with which
they're currently heavily involved, how BC continues to tie in with
Rhythm Sound. Who else from the Jamaican pantheon of reggae singers
players might they collaborate with in the future?
Any chance of more remixes of
so who produced it?

Perhaps they should've played Silent Property to make the point a bit

Anyways, I think a lot of their attitude stems from disgust about the

I'm going to expose myself as uncouth and dorky here, but, my Basic
Channel question would be: Why did the Basic Channel CD suck so?
(Okay, that's melodramatic. Please, no thread about how the CD ruled.
Fine. Different strokes. I respect you. Respect me...)
What I really mean is: The vinyl was
