My dorm room was 2 doors down from her supposed room when she went to UofM
freshman year.
On the topic of the last time she was in Detroit, it was 2 summers ago. I
remember it being the night of Lifefest and being mad because I had to work
the Madonna show at the Palace. HBO aired it live.

Heh, well when was the last time Madonna was IN the Detroit area, and what
the hell has she ever done for Detroit?
She moved to New York before a lot of 313 subscribers were born...
She's my age for gawdsakes (45) though I'll give it up to her for being
in better shape than me.

I couldn't help overreading this thread. :)
I'm a music producer and my project, which is called Two divided by zero, is
somewhat about this electro-house thread. It mixes up electro, techno and a
lot of 80's electronic pop stuff.
I sincerely would like to know what you guys would think about it.
Any regular nights in chicago featuring micro-house or minimal techno type
stuff?
Or special events in the next couple months?
I am new in town and bored!

There is an MC named S.U.N. (Scientific Universal Noncommercial) from Ypsilanti
which is not too far from Detroit, he makes some really nice conscious
underground hiphop. I produce techno but I play live keyboards with SUN
sometimes, we have a show in June at the Blind Pig that I will be coming

And indeed on the 'Ginger' album on Warp.
To answer the original question: the loop he sampled is from 'Got To Get
Your Own' by Reuben Wilson..
Sorry I meant the track 'Beam Me Up!' off the Ginger album, it samples a
disco/funk track which IIRC I've heard listmember Johnnie McIntosh play.

Timing must be perfect now. Two-timing must be better than perfect.

I've heard it played out a few times, but
Yeah, I can see why. I am not sure. Both her and Lauryn Hill picked up
acoustic guitars and decided that the bling bling was not all that and are
chastising the rest of us for our material aspirations - all very well if
you're financially sound. ;) Mind, I love both artists so I forgive them.

Madonna grew up in Rochester, which is a suburb about 20 minutes north of
Detroit. She also lived in Ann Arbor for a year when she attended U of M as
a dance major.

Its not the private pressing, its a 1 side 1 track 12" I think.
Soeaking of the private pressings does anyone know when they are due out? I
heard that there had been a few botched runs for both the Rob Hood and Moodyman
ones.

Missy put her stamp on the album already as producer. Anyone heard her remix

That's just Eminem who has the antipathy to 'techno'. Proof is more open and
gives props to eveyone. I think there's some social links. But not 'techno'
so much as house/ghetto-tek.
