if it's a minimal house track you speak of, it's likely Chicago by Henrik Schwarz, which came out last fall (?) on Mood Music. I don't know where the original sample is from, but I remember hearing the song (which is a jazz funk JAM) on a rushhour mix, so maybe some one else on the list knows..?
