One of our local Dallas techno producers, Blixaboy (aka Wanz Dover), is on
this lineup -- thrilled to see Charivari Detroit doing another virtual
festival! The last one was excellent.
Highly recommend checking out Blixaboy's Azanian Funk album here -- I Am
Eternity is the standout track for me
I feel this is known already, but you can buy/download Convextion's album
onto flash drive or burn to CD using digital files here:

Agreed, the only afterparty I went to was the Ellum showcase at Populux on
Saturday (hey, I'm 44 now and had a lung infection and was on antibiotics
the whole week prior) but it was a treat to see the crowd there waking up
to and suddenly "getting" the utterly flawless MAARS and Convextion sets.
Just booked our tickets, staying at the Motorcity. It's been a couple of
years and wow, stuff is booked up faster than ever -- anyone actually get
use out of the VIP tickets vs. regular weekend passes? We don't drink at
the festival, so they seem mostly worthless (unless there's a toilet option
OMG yes +1 on the drum machine duel. I would legit fly over JUST for this,
except my nephew's baptism is the same day... looks epic. super-jealous of
anyone attending this!

sounds wonderful. Though I wish sometime

Dave Clarke had the set of the night, IMO.

Met up with John Sokolowski yesterday and heard rumors that
Mr. Earle is in the house...
Good sets yesterday from 16 Lolitas, KDJ, CC, Alton MIller.

Here, mostly lurking, probably heading to Detroit for the festival
next year after defecting to Mutek this year out of curiosity (ugh,
mistake!). Still dream of seeing The Black Dog do a live PA after
going bonkers the first time I heard Spanners, but I'll need more than
a fortnight's notice to
yep, the messenger/sleeper wakes was sick live. really disorienting to
watch him doing it all kneeling on the ground, though, since I
couldn't see the stage setup at first when he performed this year at
Metropolis in Montreal.

Dare we dream that this means Guetta's banned from being stunt-booked
at DEMF in the future?

Just saw Dopplereffekt Friday in Dallas and I can confirm it's the
more ambient stuff, Infophysix style. Great show, though - but I
suspect many people just don't know WHAT to expect when they play. It
was very, very Detroit!

For me, I tend to think of Drexciya's music as an overall ouevre; for
example, put on The Quest and read Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues
Under the Sea or for that matter, cycle through their entire catalog
on a low level (especially if you've got, say, a house wired with
surround sound in every room

Y'all are not seeing the throngs of boring techno tourists like
myself, who may not have been quite as eye-catching as the neon-loving
kindergartners roving the area. Or the amazingly wicked dancing that
Denise Dalphond was doing at virtually every stage - maybe her tshirt
and shorts weren't
