nope. jay dee is from slum village, part of a production group called the Ummah which was behind some of the beats for Tribe Called Quest, PhatKat and a few other artists. he's done a hella lot of work in the past two years aside from Slum Village, and most everything is beautfiul, sparse hip hop.
