Not wanting to prolong the OT-ness (but doing so anyway)...
It looks nice, certainly a relief after the horrorshow of the 4000, although
the latter does have some *really* cool features if you're prepared to
persevere.I just kept on thinking I was supposed to drive the f*ing thing! It's
huge!
Is it just me or is the Fix mix of this not the best thing ever?!!! Incredibly
uplifting and funky and technical.
Massive respect to Orlando Voorn, I haven't heard anything in years and he
comes with this AND the one on his label which is also better than 90% out
there at the mo, I wonder who

I don't mind the harshness is more to do with the BPMs.
The new Aztec Mystic on UR isn't bad at -4 ;-)
Fix remix o'course... (listens to it for the 70th time)
Seriously, in my experience it's

THE REAL HARDCORE IS OVER HERE.
Man, this is the kind of thing that makes Alex Jones seem like a prophet.
I worry about all my fellow ravers.
I hope people are OK, maybe we can get some reports of what it was like? It's
strange to say the least that so many cities got knocked out at around the same
time, 4pm. I don't
Pardon me, I meant the people are being *treat* like animals, not acting like
animals. I just feel really sorry for you lot, it seems like a real climate of
fear since Sept. 2001.
Best,
Andrew
Well, from what I can see on tv here in Minneapolis - people just seem to be
trying to get
Hear hear! I heartily agree, although I will be checking the facts on this one,
it seems odd. The last one this bad was the same time of year, back in 1996.
Maybe it's the heat?
Was reading an interesting thing on GNN about a strategic vote for Dean in
2004...I dunno, it's not even my country!
One word -
Tatu
LOL! Mind you, the Tatu record SOUNDED really good, even though it's not my cup
of tea. You can admire the craft if not the art, surely?
Also, an interesting point here is 'do you write off a producer's entire body
of work if they lose it at a later date?' Our recent
Good point, I suppose the article I mention got my attention because of the
innovative production techniques used in his records. I'm going to listen to
them all and try to imagine how he did them! Even Barry Manilow...
Cheers,

M - well, Tatu is a pretty high crime - I mean
Hello,
I happened to be in my local Oxfam shop and found an old Sound On Sound from
August 1994, containing interviews with Trevor Horn and FSOL, the latter with
great pictures of their kit at the time. Anyway, this quote from the Trevor
Horn interview inspired me, following on from the
Ah, this post reminds me of trips to Pure in Edinburgh, where Twitch and
Brainstorm would often play all night. Some of my best nights, hearing so many
records for the first time...and mixed so well. A total education. Big up

Wonderful, can't wait to hear it. The Tour De France 12 has definitely grown
on me, in fact it's a bit addictive! I hope the rest of the LP makes up for all
these years, it must be weird for them seeing how everything's changed. I
suppose they've got an awful lot more work to do, we've had 20

Sorry mate, that's Blechdottir, the follow-up. The first Blech is much more
rare (apparently) and the Muzik Magazine tape is probably rarer than that.
Someone out there must have it though...
I have already sourced a CDR of Blech 1, thanks to a kind and generous 313er,
so it's only the Muzik
Hi all,
Is Blech a cassette-only release? And, does anyone remember the free Blech tape
given away with Muzik (RIP all is forgiven!!)? I had it years ago but lost it,
and looking at the official tracklisting on Discogs, it seems to have a
different running order!
Any help is much appreciated.
Oh, I hope this is the tune CC played on Giles Peterson a while ago (hosted by
Mr. Pinning) - it was a raw as f*ck minimal funky tracky thing, really cool. He
played it last on his set...can it be true?
Cheers,
Andrew

Aww man, I missed this documentary! I hope it's repeated soon...
There's surely a strong link between the techno scene and the soul scene of the
80s, the immense power of the songs back then is incredible. Each new track
that came out must have been a real event, and I remember reading
