People start booking agencies without the slightest concept of what it
takes to do the job properly. They are inexperienced, they might be
incompetent, they might be dishonest, and they might be insane. Only
the first of those 4 possible attributes are curable. Many people get
surprisingly far
Well i am a producer and in the almost 20 years i am making music, i
came to the following conclusion:
Booking agencies are evil.
I tried to avoid them as much as i could, all the times i had to deal
with them i ended arranging stuff myself because they just did it
wrong or flat out
like every where there are lot of idiots, semi-profs and profs around,
including bookings agencies.
i think you only need a booking agency, if already have several lot of
gigs requests
and need someone to arrange all booking requests for you.

Having perused the www for a bit, my conclusions are that there are alot of
'DJ' agencies set up
i'd be interested in this kind of info too. it's rough out there for
a (non-producing) dj
