Josh Wink - now he's a topical person - plays on 11 May with a certain
Fabrice Lig
Go and see Fabrice (and abuse Josh Wink if you so feel). I had the good
fortune to DJ with him at a party Red D threw last month and it was a great
set choc full of Detroit classics: started
hang around for suburban night as he wasnt scheduled to
play until 4am

Lost was O.K if you don't mind warehouse style events with huge queues for
everything. I thought Juan's technical skills were terrible Derrick May
was quite good.
(I know others that went on this list thought differently though.)

I'd agree that the place was too packed, imagine
Derrick May was being pretty adventurous with the EQs,
this reminds me of an anecdote i read some years ago
about derrick may spinning at the ministry of sound,
turning out bass and mids at a certain point of his set,
so you could only hear the trebles... is that true ?
all techno dj's do
I'd agree that the place was too packed, imagine when Mills
rolls into town
on 1 June
but I think that the sound at Fabric was top -
probably the best
you will hear, in London anyway.
I dunno - compared to somewhere like ministry (talking on a purely
soundsystem basis here - not music etc -
i'm pretty sure you can hear him doing this on the mayday ministry of
sound Cd from a few years back. but it's a while since i heard it.

Derrick May was being pretty adventurous
i think i was misunderstood here...
what i was trying to say that he turned
off bass and mids, just playing the trebles
from a certain point of the set straight
until the end, not turning them on again.

In reply to your message: The End has the best sound system in London.
Spot on! The end has long been the best club in London (imo.) and primarily
for that reason. They also don't pack 'em in like Fabric and the security
are, shall we say .. relaxed ;o)
cool might have to check it out..
what are the lineups like at the end ?

I'd like to make it clear to everyone that I was being sarcastic about Josh

Calude Young was excellent, but I hated the venue - poor sound,
overcrowded
, filled with far too much smoke so you cant see more than a few people
most certainly check the place out - Gary is right it does have the best
sound system in London and the coolest security going.
cool might have to check it out..

Ah... now there's the rub ... at the moment words like sh1te come to mind.
There was a time
i've just got back from a few weeks out the country. while i was gone
suburban knight, claude young, derrick may, juan atkins and kevin
saunderson ALL came to town :(
curious to know how these nights were as i haven't been to a good night out
in londn in ages, including lost; and of course i'd
I've seen what looks like some excellent nights coming up:

Hi all,
So I finally got to see Carl Craig play live!
and a DJ set. [Yes, it was at the club Home
here in London. Commercial club at it's best -
not!! Such a shame he played there. Nuff said!]
I was very much impressed, and he didn't play
long enough by far for me [40mins live, 1hr set].
