I have to think that an entire Wild Pitch set would get fairly
tedious. This is supposed to be driving, anthemic stuff,
I've always saved it for the peak of a set although it sounds
really cool to mix two or maybe three back to back. I have
a whole bunch of Wild Pitch-ish stuff like Oscar G's re

The first Wild Pitch mix I heard was of a Sven Vath track, of all things.
DJ Pierre kept busy in the early 90s!

If i recon correctly "wild pitch" means a track is beeing recorded
without arrangement, only by freaking on the knobs and pitches of a
mixing console. That would also underline the rather flowing character

I've never actually seen anyone describe what the "wild pitch"
sound is, but I certainly know it when I hear it, and it's a central
part of my DJ style. There are dozens of records with something
of that sound, most don't have the "wild pitch" name since Pierre
more or less had the franchise, but
the best (only?) detroit wildpitch release: dance fever 'out on the
dancefloor' (piled witch mix).
although that feeling might not be univerally shared - i have cleared a
dancefloor with it.
