[Alsa-user] ice1712 / envy24 audio dropouts

Hi, I just bought an audiophile 2496 card to replace my ensoniq 1371 card. I loaded the alsa 0.9beta12 drivers succesfully, but when I play some audio I get drop-outs every 30 seconds or so, the audio seems to quickly fade-out/fade-in. I think it becomes worse if the harddisk or CPU is busy

[Alsa-user] Now alsa-lib installs,but alsa-utils wont

The failure with alsa-lib was that the gcc compiler and c++ compiler had diffrent version numbers. But now I cant install alsa-utils. I have problems when installing alsamixer files. alsacfg works. = Investigating the Norwegain 4.th Service with the multiheaded troll logo. http://hjem.sol.no/

I recompiled alsa with debug=detect and got the following error in /var/log/messages: ALSA pcm_lib.c:2161: capture read error (DMA or IRQ trouble?) My sound card is using IRQ 5. No other device is on that IRQ, so I'm baffled, but I'm sure that somebody has seen something like this before. Tha
