2.4.21-rc it is

i understand from the FAQ that the chipset is not supported under ALSA.
Does anybody know if its likly to stay this way for a long time and I thus should
seriously consider getting another card or is a module just around the corner?

Just recompiled my kernel 2.4.9-e.12 because the configure script for
alsa-driver-0.9.4 said I wasn't using the right versio of gcc.

night (on another board) that suggests that he could only get ALSA to
work with the 8233 using 0.9.rc6.
