when i use xine or mplayer with alsa the programs crash the image freeze, i'm
sure that is a problem with alsa because if i use null as audio output the
image is normal (but without sound, jejeje) anyone know how to fix this.

Hi,
I'm having exactly the same problem, when I'm watching a dvd with 5.1
sound, I can hear the background music but not the people speaking...
If anyone has the solution please post it.
Thanks,

Hi,
The problem I am having is that the "sound rate" changes and is not correct
for all applications.
Using the same hardware running Mandrake 9.1 everything is good. I am able to
run either Mandrake 9.1 or 9.2 on the same hardware so if you have any tests
for me to run then I can.

I have a very simple question whose answer is not at all clear to me,
even after reading all the ALSA documentation I can find.
I have got the driver, utils and lib directories, and have built
everything according to the instructions in the soundcard matrix
My question is this: just what do I

Hi,
I have had problems with my Terratec Aureon Space 7.1 ever since I bought the
thing. Not with the device but with the support for Linux. I think that
most (if not
all) is due to misconfiguration and not knowing how to set it up properly.
I hope someone can help me with my current issue. This

With envy24control, snd, audacity you can see the levels.
The vu-meters of snd looks like old vu-meters and their color chan

Did you hear anything with OSS, before you tried alsa? Or can you now hear
any sound from OSS applications now?
Can you test Knoppix or SuSE live-eval if they produce sound? I just want
to rule out some pos

aplay foo.wav
Hear anything?
Aplay should report the rate/bit depth of the wav file. If it reports
errors or doesn't report anything, problems ahead.
