Nigel,
Oops - forgot to mention that I'm using Gutsy Gibbon (7.10). There seem to
be quite a few people who've had problems with sound in GG. But none of the
solutions on the Ubuntu bulletin board has helped me.

Am I missing a file? And if I can get it from somewhere, when do I execute

Hi again,
having no reply, here's some update: with ALSA 1.0.15 the same problem
exists. BTW also with arecord, it does not depend on skype.
Maybe a bug?

What about Club 3D Theatron DD 7.1?
Or Club 3D Theatron DTS 7.1?
Any experience with them?
What sound cards do you know that work well? I'll go outside the
mimovrste.com cards.

Suddenly (only difference is restart), the sound quality is poor.
It happened to me before, and fixed it when installed new version of
the distribution (back then it was openSUSE, now i'm using kubuntu
7.04).
What to do?
Thanks in advance.

For some time now, I can't get any sound from line in. The mixer
envy24control shows no signal, neither on the rear input nor on the
internal one where my tv card is connected. Both inputs are ok in windows.
I can't say when this started because I didn't try line in for some time
now.
