I switched from an M-audio Delta 44 to an echo Mia Midi. The Mia Midi
has a noticeably lower noise floor.

Hi,
Still trying to get my Delta44 to stop dropping
samples when playing and recording.
I read some stuff on IRQ's, and pci latency, and
so put my Delta44 on IRQ9, and the video on 4. I also
cut the video card's slot down to a latency value of 32,
while bumping up the Delta44's slot to 248, using

Hey,
I remember that the ice1712 has this funny
preamp capability, is that the 'IPGA' slider
set that I now see on evny24control 'Analog Volume'
tab, and if so, I thought that that was aleady
what the 'ADC0-3' was, or maybe I'm mistaken.
Is there a source of clarifying docs on these
controls?

Hi,
Should my apps using oss emulation be able to play
files faster than 48000Hz, or would there be some
reason that I can't reach 96000Hz with those apps
on my Delta44?
Aplay handles them beautifully, and btw, thankyou

My Delta44 would be a good card, but in Windows,
or Linux, on three different motherboards, and
as many video cards, etc... I have always had
dropouts in the sound. I can make it happen
right now at will by using Alt-tab to switch to
Mozilla.
I'm actually looking for a new card because of this.
So I think that you can try to upgrade to the current ALSA release to solve
the problem.
Yep, that makes all the difference, I see the
proper controls in envy24control now.
Thanks!

Hi,
My applications are unable to set sampling

command to stop the Rate Locking?
amixer set 'Multi Track Rate Locking' *WHAT*?
Also, alsamixer is tough to figure out with

Hi,
My Delta44 keeps getting locked at 48000Hz. I know that under windows,
I can lock the rate down and free it up, but I'm having trouble doing
that with ALSA for some reason:
envy24control doesn't seem to have a control for this. BTW, what

Hi,
After installing Gentoo I find that my Delt44 (ice1712) is playing
all sounds about 10-15% too fast. XMMS, aplay, etc, bump up the
speed so that music sounds about 1.5 semitones to high/fast.
Any idea what I can do to track this down? The card plays fine
under Windows boot.
Thanks!
Tobiah

I noticed that although my previous post about 24/32 bit with
handling by aplay with wave files was left with no reply, 32-bit
support has indeed been written into aplay's wave init code, in
the late CVS versions.
It must be possible to also include 24-bit sample width ability
into aplay/record.
Get the latest cvs. There are improvements in the
ice1712 stuff. I have my Delta 44 running sweetly now.
You may want to look at amixer as well, because it has all of
the functionality of envy24control (save real time meters), and
it alsa has an analog input gain control that envy24control
