Hello Fellow AMers,
Offered for sale is this UTC CVM-5, 600 watt Modulation transformer.
Asking 350.00 plus shipping, approximate weight for shipping is 75 lbs.
Specs for this Multi-Match transformer can be found on the AM Window
tech pages, under modulation transformers, including hook-up wiring.
Ah, Ron,
The Thunderbolt does NOT require 20 watts unless there is something
really
wrong with it. I have and use two one is driven by a Central Electronics
10B with about 2.5 watts out in AM mode for over 300 watts carrier from
the Thunderbolt. In CW mode I usually run about 6 watts into the
Hello,
Jim WB2FCN here.
What you describe sounds like either of two things, in order to point
you in the right direction. first let me say the bias supply, not only
provides bias to the 250th but also to the grids of the 100th tubes and
also to the 807s. This may sound strange but it works this
My 458VFO runs from 160 through 10 with low output on 10 meters.
Actually
the doubling schemes seems to be questionable! I intend to build the
10 add-on from the bama site and try that for 10 meter am.
I have 2 of the 458VFO units both are working in the same manner, (low
10
meter output). My
Hello fellow listers,

Hi Ken,
Yep, They are a good little rig! I have one in operation, along with a

Hi Jim,
yes for the 813 in AB1, around 65 watts maximum out, I use the CE10B as
driver and frequency control. the 813 is in class C now and modulated
by a pair of 811A using the Kenyon 125 watt modulator transformer for
the 813
class B modulator to single 813. Works better.
Also yes on 10 meters,
Hi Jim,
I run several 10A, 10B, and 20A combinations here at WB2FCN. For past
two
weeks been running the 20A/10B at different times, and driving a Johnson
Thunderbolt.
My 20A is back in original form according to the manual. Took a little
coaxing to get things back to normal in the unit. My
