it is like a mobile rig in that you can remote mount the face! It comes
Yes, Thanks for the 2 new grids John. It is great to see satellite ops send
out QSLs unsolicited. Rarely see that in other aspects of the hobby. Just
goes to show what a passion satellite operating is.

If anyone is looking for a 2m and 70cm radio to get on the satellites with, I
have a nice Yaesu FT7800 available. It does 50 watts on 2m and 40 watts on
70cm, CTCSS tones, DCS tones, and come with the mic, power cord, and original
box. It doesn't have the manual, but you can find that on line.
Does anyone know if the DXpeditions to the new PJ entities plan on any
satellite operation? I figure they are busy with HF operations right now but
getting on for a few satellite passes once they have worked down the pileups on
HF would sure be fun for the sat operators.

But remember, we don't have 40 years of QSOs to count towards VUCC. Only QSOs
made January 1, 1983 and later count for VUCC. I was surprised when I got
satellite VUCC back in 2003 or so that it was only #129.

I have for sale or trade a 2008 model Kenwood TS2000 that does 100 watts on HF,
6m, and 2m, and 50 watts on 70cm. I bought this radio used from Ham Radio
Outlet at the beginning of June, so it has been checked out recently and found
to work perfectly. Really like it but life things come up and
A couple on his list are not full duplex, like the Icom 24AT, and I don't think
the IC-32AT is either.

Earlier today I caught a nice, high elevation pass on SO50. There was a
posting a while ago suggesting that switching to FM-Narrow helps to get around
the SO50/AO27 birdie on the radio and I can confirm that it works! I got on
just before mid pass but was able to copy SO50 during the rest of
For those of you who have worked NO5X on the sats, I am sad to inform you that
he became a SK in the past couple of days. I met John twice in person back in
May when buying some equipment from him, and he was a great guy. I will miss
hearing him on the birds.

I have for sale a Yaesu FT51R dualband (2m/70cm) HT in very good condition.
This was Yaesu's top of the line HT when it came out. It does dual receive, so
you can listen to both bands at once, crossband repeat, and it has a built in
tone encoder for those repeaters that require tones. It
Has anyone on the list tried using a Kenwood TS2000 on full duplex satellite
operatation using a dualband VHF/UHF antenna and a diplexer? Is it possible or
is there too much desensitization thru the diplexer to make full duplex work?
