Hello,
I decided to upgrade to 1.66 from 1.61. I did not mean to overlay it
on 1.61, but I did. When running the auto modem detect, my system locked
up. After restarting my system, everything looks ok but I cannot get
dial tone. I reloaded 1.61 on my D drive and it works fine. Any ideas?
Thank

Hello everyone!
This mail is meant to be a test. Sorry if I have disturbed.
I have just installed Arachne 166 and everything seems to be OK (if
you're reading this, it surely is!)

Computer: 386DX/33 8MB RAM DR-DOS 7.03.
Modem: External 33600 baud on COM2.

hi all;
I really feel bad that I lost that e-message this morning plus the
time wasted factor (:
I have however discovered a DOS Screen-saver which apparently came

I also noticed a play-list, I guess for referencing favorite mp3

"e-message"? What happened to plain and simple "e-mail"? :)
Regarding the lost message, it might still be there.
Messages that were composed and are waiting for sending are saved
with the extension ".TBS". ("To be sent"?)
Just look at the \arachne\mail directory for any TBS files. If you

hi all;
I hope this day finds you all well,
here is my problem:
I started Arachne and started to compose a e-message off-line...
this went fine until I saved it to my OutBox... it was then when I got the
attachments page where Arachne said savedas.sh or something like that..

Yes. Linux plays very nicely with DOS. I recommend
you use LOADLIN.EXE to boot Linux directly from DOS
(rather than installing LILO).
The simpliest way to install Linux is to use a second

OK, I have been thinking of trying Linux for some time, but
I have a couple of issues.
1) Can I easily install it without disrupting my current DOS
configuration?
I was going to try Win-OS/2 the other day, but was
afraid to try to install it so it wouldn't overwrite my Hard Drive.

Three ways:
1)Run FDISK, and look at the partition information.
2)Boot MS-DOS 6.22 (or any other DOS without FAT32 support) and see

Hello Arachnids:
Is there an easy way to determine whether your OS is running in a
FAT 16 partition or a FAT 32 partition?
