I am all for not downloading the songs and all but the point about Desam. I believe it did not do so well not because of the downloading but to the fact that it was not given any publicity. Plus, I don't hear any of these songs on the airwaves, not the mention the movie in tamil. What do you think?

Any resampling will not give you same quality of the original. Even MP3 ripped at highest bit rate from a CD will not able to give you original CD quality music, since MP3 is lossy compression. DVD has 5 channels encoded separately using AC3 (Dobly Digital)codec. So coverting from 2 channel MP

Yes Gops. U r right. If this was done around 8 years back it would have made a mark. But now ARR is know for composing music which will appeal to the music critics. For me all the songs sound too much electronic. Mayilirage song had good tabla and other instrumet but mixing was not that great.
