If I am not mistaken the film is a remake of Kaagaz ke Phool and it starred Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rehman (as Paro). Guru Dutt not only acted in the film but also directed it.  It is a fantastic film but in black and white. ROPM is trying to remake this film with Katrina doing Waheeda's role

listening to the last five hindi albums of A R RAHMAN which are delhi 6, ghajini, yuvraaj, ada, jtjn, jodha akbar i came to a point that something has gone wrong . the commercial aspect has badly influenced A R RAHMANS music. these movies contain below average rejected songs which are no where
