My bad. I borrowed the lyrics from the site I referred to but kept
hearing it as 'noolil aana mazhai aagi ponen' and honestly couldn't
comprehend what the poet actually means.
'noolil aadum mazhayaagi ponen' translates to 'I became the rain(drop) that
waves/hangs on a thread' which could mean that

I became a thread dancing ( hanging and moving about) due to the rain.
As far as the comparison between Thamarai & VM goes, VM rocks but Thamarai
is also quite decent. I quite liked her lyrics for the GM-HJ albums. Even
here, there are no vulgar lyrics. Sorry to say that the comparison has to
come
