I wish BMC would address this issue of installers and the API level.

Hi Srikanth,
If you are having EIE,you can create 3 or 4 instances(depends on
sources) and map the fields and can auomate the import process.

Hi, Srikanth.
You could give our product a try. It is called QuickStart Standard Edition
Datalink that we used to deploy ITSM 7.0 applications. This tool supports
the data load for the basic ITSM 7.0 foundation forms including people
(CTM:People). It takes the data in the form of csv files and

You are correct. The base course is available to the public. It's the

Are you sure the AL is running for the user. You say you went in and
tested it, but your permissions may be different than the user's.
Also... Does the user have permissions to create record in the second

While SQL Server 2005 can do online index rebuilds, it requires that all
TEXT columns be replaced with VARCHAR(MAX) columns. So all of your diary

We are having three different sources of data- LDAP, HRMS and Notes. I

Okay, here's what I dug up from my notes in March 2006 when I found out

In short adding, modifying, and deleting data causes fragmentation. I
googled it to see what I could come up with. Here is a pretty good
link on managing fragmentation:

Hi all
We currently have several requirements for contractors to add value to
existing Fusion UK projects. The following opportunities are available:
1. ITSM 7 Trainer - contract duration 4 weeks (August start) -
Midlands
2. Remedy Developer - contract duration 5 months (August/Se
Srikanth,
The good thing about the staging form is that you can push to it from
anywhere. Using the flat file or csv the first time will work, but I
would build it in such a way that you can leverage it from Oracle, SAP,
LDAP, or whatever source of People data you can find to pull it from
also.
Thanks for the replies.
We are planning to implement Asset and CMDB for the phase one.
So we are planning to import the support group data/permisssions at a
later stage.
At this point of time, We are just planning to automate the people
data to be available for use with Asset and CMDB.

If I remember correctly, the permission form is CTM:People Permission

I'm in the same boat as Shawn - our AD data is certainly not clean
enough but we'll be developing a solution soon.
Good luck!

It depends on what level of import you require. If you just want to
import all People data but don't care about users being set up and such,
then you'll only need to import to CTM:People. However, if you want to
set up Support Staff, you'll also need the User form, the Support Groups
form, and th

There is a similar bug with the OOB Change Approval Process. BMC knows

CTM:People is the main one for ITSM 7. The thing you'll trip over is the
conditionally required fields that are new for v7. You can either dig into
and learn the workflow in advance, or turn on the Filter logs and see what
stops the import process each time a validation Filter gets in the way.

Not that I know, at least there seems to be no easy way.
The problem, as I understand it, is that ARSdoc isn't "done" with the
loaded memory structures until the very end.
This problem could probably be alleviated by a redesign of ARSdoc, but
apart from that I see no easy workaround.

I am taking a course in Pleasanton (Installing and Configuring ITSM 7.0) next
week that is listed on the education list as available to the public. It does
have prerequisite required courses, however. Could it be that it is
