If you have licenses for it, you might want to use HP's Connect-IT software
instead of AIE. The benefit is that it uses the Remedy API to exchange the
data instead of going the database route. This will make things more robust
as well as easier to set up.
Previously, I have used Connect-IT for an
OK, I've now booked my attendance at this event in November.
Maybe us UK attendees should get together and 'suggest' a UK localisation

this)
Any other UK people going?

Hi,
I am able to export forms, active links, filters, escalations etc from BMC
Remedy Developer studio.
But I am not able to export PROCESSES (which created using Remedy User tool)
from BMC Remedy User tool. I searched a lot to do this activity for moving
Development to Production environment.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible (out of the box) to configure ITSM 701
to send email notifications to the assigned group when a Problem Management
record is created\updated?
I can see that it does send a notification to the assigned user but I cannot
get it to send notifications to the users
Last I heard, Connect-IT ran data in batch mode, making it pretty slow. Is this
still the case?

You should write a run process on the close of secondary form. For eg.

Then you have write an Active Link with execute on as Event and runif as

Krishna,
PROCESSES do not really mean anything in the language of the Action
Request System (ARS). That name (PROCESSES) may refer to some part
of an application built on top of ARS, but you have not identified
what application (or version of the application) you might be using.

Are you referring to the AST forms or true CMDB changes. You use the CMDB
Class manager and CMDB Driver for that.

CMDBDRIVER is the tool you use. Since you had to ask the question be very
careful when you use this since it is very particular concerning the DOS
command structure.

I should have mentioned I have had no 7X training and have been winging it
for the last two years with 7X.
To Answer Matt's question - AST:Forms and true CMDB Changes both need to be
moved. Is there a difference in what I could do if it was only an AST: form?
Could I import a .def file for AST:
Changes to CMDB are migrated using the CMDB Driver. It is imperative you do
this as for example recreating a filed on the destination server even with
the correct fieldid does not make the field the same. Log onto the CMDB
driver and take a look at the expdf and impdf commands (for example). You

Because of the design requirements of the CMDB it would be very beneficial to
get the CMDB 1 and 2 training classes. If you make errors in using the CMDB
driver or adding fields outside of the Class Manager the CMDB could be
corrupted and no longer usable.

I completely agree... I have been begging for almost two years.

I will most likely make the changes handjam style since I am unfamiliar with

We have been using MT 7.5 on ARS 7.1 Patch 6 with no problems. However, we
aren't using web services really, but they seem to have got published (the
default ones)
