Yes that was the workaround on those earlier patches.. I had gotten around it
the exact same way..

What patch are you on? I remember this error. Its patch 1 and 2 of ARS 7.6.04
that this error manifested. I think it was resolved in patch 03.

Mark,Even if lets say these temp fields are not 'currently' used by BMC Software, they may have created them in preparation to use it in a forthcoming patch or release. I would not use them. They may have even created them in collaboration with third party software that they endorse to use with
Mark,
Rick has the 'best practice' (expect nothing less from Mr.W), but if you
really need to avoid adding a field .
You could go old-school and export the workflow definition (exclude the
form) and search for the Field ID number; this will ID all objects that use
the field.

Every time I restart the AR System, external authentication stops working.
According to the arplugin.log file I get:

Then I go through a handful of troubleshooting by: restarting the s

Personally I would add new fields in an overlay, if you use existing BMC
fields there's no telling when they might start using them in the future and
there's no way to predict the interaction between their code and yours.

Yeah, AIE is very finicky after an upgrade or refresh from production to
another environment. Once those jobs get corrupted, it's hard to get them back
in order. Did you keep your old 7.6.0.0 environment around as a backup? If so,
you might consider uninstalling/reinstalling AIE and you can expo
If you don't have too many AIE jobs you could try:
- in the user tool search for the EIE:BackupLoadFlag form
- export the records to an arx file
- edit the arx file to change the old server details to the new one (including
the ARS port number if that was changed)
- import the modified arx replaci
Hi All,
Hoping someone already faced the issue we have with AIE. We applied the BMC
method to upgrade from ITSM/CMDB 7.6.00 to 7.6.04 sp4 (BPCU, new OOTB
installation 7.6.04 on new Linux servers and new database, database dump to
overwrite the OOTB database freshly installed, then DDM).
