Hi, Terje:
We've also reported the same issues with packing lists in ARServer/Dev Studio
8.1.0. However, since loading Dev Studio 8.1.0 hotfix build date: November 13,
2013 the count seems to be OK now...so far.
Is your build date January 2013 or 2014?

I completely appreciate all the arguments Axton has made here - especially
the non-technical ones that lean more on legal bindings, during and after a
tenure with a SaaS vendor, which many might "almost forget" to consider or
disregard based on a trust relationship with their vendor(s).

Hi David,
Thank you for the input, I appreciate it. I can fully understand not being
able to answer due to not having enough information, and I apologize for not
being able to provide much more.
I guess I was actually looking for an experts 'guess'...which is not very
helpful for you all.

Michael,
As the other 2 posters suggested, it varies depending on your environment
and size. I'll share my experience in case you find it helpful.

Hi,
I have seen this many times, and I have not been able to grasp exactly what
makes it happen.
I even created my own utility to export packing lists, and it never fails.
Something within the Developer Studio seems to be at fault.

I think you won't get a lot of responses because it's much more subjective than
that. What duties would your team has depends completely on how your users use
the system and what integrations you have. For us, we currently have two FTEs

A large variable in your question is the size and shape of the CMDB. There are
many other variables as well. You probably never received an answer because no
one can really answer your question without much more information. There isn't
a linear formula for scalability.

Hello everyone,
This is a repost, as I had sent it once before, and I promise it will be my

If you Check

It has a connection tag which has a few parameters like

Increasing these parameters is directly proportional to java heap size of

Just a note about the ARSList,
We typically like to know who we are talking to...or at least have a 'name'

your client to provide us a name to call you by.

Active Links cause an action to occur. A common function for an Active Link is
to set values in a field. Most often the data used to fill in missing data in
a field comes from one or more forms hosted on the server.

When exporting the Packing List, did you select "Content" from the "Add Items

Folks,
I created a packing list holding 15 objects: 1 Filter, 4 Active Links and 10

are exported. Importing the same packing list clearly
Kathy,
Unfortunately this is a "depends" answer. Depends on how many CI's are in your
environment, depends on how clean and consistent your source data is. Depends
on whether your BMC.ASSET data is consistent, it depends on whether your

If you enable plugin logging for the appropriate plugin server that is hosting
your LDAP plugin you should see the error codes but I don't think they're
passed back to the server. The only codes returned are login successful,
failed and unknown user. The 623 can result from both internal and A

Hello Listers,
We are in the procress of going from 7.6.04 to 8.1. I have a question. I
do alot of data imports using the DMT tool, in 7.6.04 it was pretty easy,
drop the file into the directory and launch the tool.
In 8.1, I know there is not much difference, when I go to create a job, it
