Hi,
Permission groups are used to ADD, not to RESTRICT.
You need to make sure that the users in question does NOT belong to a group
that has write access to the field (attachment slots/pool).

Hi John,
With the user, no you do not need to run the installer as this user - the
installer must be run as an ARS Administrator. The User is required for the
ARID plugin that is installed and used by Process Designer so it requires the
correct ITSM permissions to be able to access the forms,
Hi Carl
Im using the Single Stack Preconfigured 8.1 system with no patches.

Kind Regards,
I was looking on the product download patch site.
There is no patch to go from 8.1 to 8.1.01 that I can see for arserver,
look like you have to download the big installer and apply it.
So I will have arserver mid tier on 8.1.01 and the ITSM application on 8.1
Then I will apply the 8.1.01.P1
i have a user with this same error. even as an admin i am not abel to
advance the change request. i have disabled the transition rules in the

anyone have a solution for this?

Hi,
PD will work on 8.1 or 8.0 with no issue, you just require the Mid-Tier Hotfix
if using the latest PD version 8.3.04 - this does not require you to update the
whole ARS/ITSM system.
Alternately, you could install a later version of the Mid-Tier that would
include the Hot-Fix e.g.

Well installing the 7.5 client and then the 7.6.04 client didn't help so I

Has anyone attempted this successfully? If so do you have a whole list of

I have noticed that the design of the ITSM application is not very

Hey Joe,
Have you looked at the Data Wizard?
https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/public/itsm80/Overview+of+the+data+wizard
Here are some screenshots I took from our Dev (has an orange skin) that
shows you can rename a company, the forms it touches and the record counts
in each form.
I second on that Joe. The only way to successfully update Company or Site info
in ITSM 7.6.04 is with the Data Management tool which has the Data Wizard
mentioned by Mr. Miller. It will modify whatever company names you want to
change in all the ITSM forms and the Atrium CMDB where
This is usually a permission issue as indicated by the error. If the user does
not have the Infrastructure Change Manager functional role, they are not
allowed to move the change into Scheduled for Approval. Usually, you just
have the person in their group that does have that functional role
That's an 8.0 Wizard isn't it? Is something like that available for 7.6.04?
Sure if the documentation of that Wizard, speaks of all the forms it
changes, we might be able to use that information to create something for
7.6.04 - assuming that those forms exist on 7.6.04 too, else we may have to
Fine... I looked it up for you. I was pretty sure it was in 7.6.04 but
don't have that version system handy. Pg. 91 of the 7.6.04 Data Management
Administration Guide talks about the Data Wizard.

Hopefully it doesn't touch the Last Modified By and Last Modified

Yeah I would prefer it does a Direct SQL.. I had done the exact same thing
