I have a form, that has a status field. It gets updated by a button
that pulls up a menu of status. People keep free forming in the
status field which screws up the status etc., I changed the
permissions of the field but that does not allow the users to update
with the update button. My other t
ecord count reaches are few

Yes I did think of that but they really do not want that, the first problem,
they want to see it, and since that is an admin thing it is not all that
clean. But I am surprised that does not come out of the box on the remedy
user form. Might be a good suggestion.

For # 2 I am not sure what you are trying
to accomplish but if you want a field to increment 1..2..3..4…5 you can
can use an integer field set by workflow. For # 1 you need to come up with
workflow that says if transaction of database value = $Field$ error out.
