an endorsement or recommendation).

When clicking a link placed in an excel file to a mid-tier request id, the mid

this (I searched the archives). It appears when URL's are clicked in excel, it
always starts a new session?

I spent almost a year going through stuff like this on a Unix server
group. We're up and stable now, I just hope it says that way. Although
I never experienced the error you mention below, a few things come to
mind.

Additional C1 gaps can occur in version 6.3-7.x if you have the
parameter "Next-ID-Commit: T" set in your conf file. This causes a
database commit to occur after selecting and updating nextid in arschema

The easiest fix on a windows system is to use the AR System ODBC Driver
instead of the Oracle (or other database) driver. The AR System driver
is simply an odbc presentation to the remedy api and thus the byte data

Try putting three double quotes (""") anywhere you need a single set.
That is the escape sequence.

Large table sizes tend to drag down the AREmail process and cause it to
hang. Therefore, other than adding
com.remedy.arsys.emaildaemon.ARSystemHandler.level= WARNING to the
logging.properties (which keeps the bulk of the errors out of the form).
It would be good to create escalations to clean up
If the logs that you get are not detailed enough add the following to
your logging.properties file in the ../jre/lib directory..
java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler.level = FINER
java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler.formatter =
java.util.logging.SimpleFormatter

Conrad,
By looking at the timing on the errors below it appears that some of the
transactions are successful with a few exceptions? The log you have is
pretty vague and more details are required to nail down the problem. To
gather more information I would place the following entry in the ar.conf
Check your process timeout parameter in the server information. This
usually results in a timeout error being logged, but it can cause the
server to abandon run processes. I'd also check to make sure that the
user your remedy server is running as has permissions to the arimportcmd
executable.
