Oren,
After you created your SD card, does it mount on your PC/Mac ? Does it show a
RUNNIX volume with an "os" directory ?
If so, then describe what hardware you are using.
Which img.gz board type did you use, geni586 (Generic i586) ?
Which version did you use, 0.7.10 or the 1.0-beta ?

Hi,
I am using the instructions in this document
http://doc.astlinux.org/userdoc:new-install
to install the image on an SD card.
When I boot from the SD card after performing the dd command, all that I
can see is a prompt with blank screen.
What am I missing here?
Can this setting work at all o

That would explain your problem. :-)
You should have dnsmasq running.
What is your "/mnt/kd/dnsmasq.static" file ? It is created/defaults to the
file "/stat/etc/dnsmasq.static" when initially setup.
If in doubt,
$ cp /stat/etc/dnsmasq.static /mnt/kd/dnsmasq.static
$ service dnsmasq init

I just noticed errors about dnsmasq. Do i need dnsmasq running for adresses

Etienne,
Please post here if you can't get this resolved. I have not seen such an issue.
dnsmasq has not changed since 0.7.8 .

Astlinux is behind my home router at 192.168.1.1 that uses DD-WRT. All my
computers uses 192.168.1.1 as DNS server. My computer can browse and ping
domains without problem so i am pretty sure the router and DNS server are
working fine since all computers here still works without problem as usual.

So you have an upstream router that is actually doing the public DNS forwarding
?
If you are not already, try the OpenDNS DNS IP's: 208.67.222.222 and
208.67.220.220 in your upstream router as a test.
Can you ping your current public DNS IP's ?
My guess it was a coincidence your upstream DNS f

John,
There is a process to do remote upgrades, but you will need to be very careful
with order of operations (or you could have a problem).
When everything is ready, we will publish that information in the wiki.

the more dens servers the better. I think 4 will suffice.
Just use spaces in between.

I have sometimes problems with DNS and registering to voip provider with

With other Swiss provider I don't have any Problems only with Swisscom ADSL.
Can anyone tell me how to put more than one DNS in the Astlinux gui? should I
use space be

Hi Shamus,
We need to understand what is going on in more detail. The RUNNIX changes from
0.7.7 to 0.7.8 is very minor and should not effect booting at all, and both are
using the same version of syslinux to perform the initial boot. I don't think
it is RUNNIX.

Shamus,
If you're seeing that rc.modules is read only, you do not have a unionfs
partition (which you will need to make changes to that file).
You can try:
modprobe r8169
To see if that is in-fact, the correct module for that board (I'm pretty sure
it is since I have one of the Jetway w
I wonder ( with no Mac experience ) if THAT might be the issue.
What I do with my thin client SBC installs is simply to boot the board with a
thumb drive with DSL ( Damn Small Linux ) installed on it, and a late version
