Before I bought my Squeezebox a year or so ago, I had been ripping music
to VBR MP3s. I had a fair collection by then. I still haven't got
round to ripping it all to FLAC now, so plenty of things I listen to
are MP3.
And my opinion is that MP3s do sound immeasurably better through decent
Don't laugh - I realise this is an Audiophile forum - but you might
consider one of the little JVC micro systems. I like the sound of the
JVCs I've heard (and I love my old one mentioned in my footer). They
use single driver speakers which I believe is one of the ingredients
that make them quite

Ooops sorry! I see Boulder and images of Bybee Purifiers start dancing

DVDAExplorer can rip the lossless MLP files, downmix to stereo, and save
as a 24/96 wav or flac file all in one go.
DSOTM DVD-A sounds fantastic through the transporter done this way.

That is not relevant.
The point being made here is that some signal distortions that measure
badly do not significantly affect

and QNAP NAS up and running nicely.

audiophiles in this forum and done the following
1. Grounded the co-ax digital out with a RCA plug terminated with 75
ohm
don't use shielded twisted pair... ethernet is designed for unshielded,
and under 99% of circumstances you are more likely to increase EMI by
using shielded.

In Brazil the number of listeners that use HTPC (Home Theater PC) grows
a lot.
Really MP3 doesn't satisfy me. Therefore the original sources .hehe.
I prefer the whole work of lifting to change LP or CD, to clean, to
keep, that is part of the show of the listens.
I hear LastFm a lot through HTPC
Ok, point taken. I will use standard Cat 5 or 6
I intend to use SB with NAS only once files are uploaded. How do I set
a static IP for the SB. Is it in slimserver software or SSOTS? I have
done it for the NAS
