Are you using a DAC connected by spdif?
What type of machine is your server?
Set player.source to DEBUG in settings advanced logging and look in
server.log to see what command is actually being used...

Sorry for asking the obvious, but are you also streaming to another SB
device like a radio or a Boom? If so, server side decoding can cause
problems - the server doesn't know what device to decode for, as it
were, and may not send a

The server runs the latest 7.7.1 beta build and is installed on

I'm really tired of that kind of talk. It's always the same over here.
At this place in particular.
If people get bored they start hijacking those threads.
These people exactly know how to pull the trigger - pushing a thread

Do you still get the problem using the internal Touch DAC? (if so, it
is an SBS configuration problem, if not it is an issue with your DAC).
Just to be clear, your 24/96 flacs play fine normally if you stream
them

Hmmm but SOX is not used when streaming 24/96 to Touch... FLAC.exe is
invoked to convert to PCM

Is it OK with the internal DAC and PCM?

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't what you'd call minimal...

I can't provide any help that would possibly solve your problem.
However, I have been running TT3.0 and SBS 7.6.1 with setting of PCM
instead of native, with and without disabling WLAN, with both digital
out only and RCA out only

IMHO they are two pssibilities:
1. Your SBS is underpowered and is not able to decompress flac with sox
on the fly and it breakes the data stream
2. There is something
To be clear, when streaming FLAC up to/including 96Khz as PCM on the
Touch, this line is used by LMS in convert.conf:
flc pcm * *
# FT:{START=--skip=%t}U:{END=--until=%v}
[flac] -dcs --force-raw-format --endian=little --sign=signed $START$
$END$ -- $FILE$
SOX is NOT used.

I think it might be your #1 possibility.
The readynas runs on an old Core2duo 2.4Ghz with 2Gb RAM, so maybe it
is not enough to decompress the large 24/96 Flac files.
I guess the other success stories I read run their SBS on a more
powerful NAS or even a PC/MAC.
@phil
I thought you said the files were playing back at the wrong speed? That
would not be a NAS CPU problem.

Yah, Core 2 Duo should have more than enough power.

That's a CPU or network problem for sure. Skips and jumps. Playback at
the wrong speed is something else.
