I also add (xxx) to the album title, so that searching on 24bit brings
me all HDTracks 24bit tracks..
Yet, IMHO, it is about time Logitech supports sample rate and bit depth
search without any 3rd party plug-ins.

Discussion is pointless since the Transporter line is dead, I am happy
enough it is still supported by the Squeeze ecosystem.
P.S. There are quite a lot of 192/24 material. Many classical albums,
some jazz.

My Transporter is modded (by another friend), but if you're going to
use it solely as a digital transporter, then it is absolutely useless.

First, it is hard to beat transporter, regardless of price.
Regarding noise, my friend has mac mini + Weiss DAC202 (firewire) -
very quiet. The external sound the setup makes, and the noise floor of
the music reproduction.

how bad depends on your listening volume and the amount of attenuation
you need to apply to your system, with more than 10db, you will need to
get a preamp.
RE: RCA-XLR cables - not necessarily you will hear improvement, worth
trying though

filtering, etc..
There is nothing in DSD that requires more than 60Khz sampling rate..
Over 25Khz there is a catastrophic amount of noise...
