Sounds much better to me too, thanks Inguz. I will run my sweeps again in case I messed that up. For some reason my Maudio mobile pre would only record mic on channel 1, so line ended up on channel 2, which was the same for both sweeps. I swapped the tracks (one sweep only) in Audacity so they

Oh dear. A bug snuck in to the processor a while back, and since I wasn't affected, I didn't even notice... but I think it's the cause of these bad-sounding results. Open inguz.dsp.exe.config (in \Program Files\SlimServer\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread\) with Notepad, and if you see a line

Thanks Inguz! I will give this a try this coming Friday when I finally return home and will let you know how it goes. In the meantime, maybe a couple of the others experiencing the same issue can provide feedback regarding their own systems. Kook -- ob_kook SB2 -- Axiom passive pre --

I haven't been able to get a good sounding impulse response, too. I'm using the Inguz Normal.drc file and sweeps. I did notice the following warning message in the ImpulsePre.exe log file (attached) and coulnd't work out what it meant. I have looked in the DRC documentation. Here's the warning

Hi Old Guy, I've not been able to play around with this more yet due to travelling and being away from my system. For next steps, I plan to try running it one more time as well as using the Foobar convolver with the filter I create (as per suggestions above). Other than that, I will need to get

Unfortunately, I don't know enough about this stuff to help you. But I've been poking around in the drc docs, and found this config file: erb.drc I renamed it to normal, regenerated the filters, and got sound I generally liked better. I _did_ get some clipping at high frequencies, so I'm now

OK. I haven't done a measurement yet, but the normal generated from this file had a _lot_ more bass, and I haven't heard any clipping. You might want to try playing with it. +---+ |Filename: normal.zip
