I've never heard of turning off only DAC being possible. I use the
BLANK SAVER plugin to turn off display.

If you are using either as a digital head end, the TP is a bit better in
that role than the Touch. But both are very good.
The TP is a superior implementation than the Touch going through to the
output stage. So in some respects, the Touch is more responsive to an
outboard DAC than a TP is.

I too am about to take possession of a Transporter. It's going into my
main, living room system which is amplified by a Rogue Audio Cronus
Magnum. This amplifier does not have XLR inputs. Is my best bet to go
XLR-out on the Transporter to RCA-in on the Rogue, or is there no
advantage to this, ove

I picked it up ok, all seems fine.
Does the Transporter have squishy rubber feet? Im not sure these ones
are original as they look poor quality. And the Remote that came with
it wasnt backlit.
Still happy with it though. Got it wired in and working. Just need to
play with the various ways

I have and use both. Both are good. XLD iis not always as good at tag
preservation as dbpoweramp is, especially during format conversions.
With XLD, I find myself having to use Kid3 more often to clean up tags.
Thats why I recommend dbpoweramp first. As always, you get what you
pay for. But
OP could try XLD (X Lossless Decoder) for Mac - its free and has all
the transcoding options one may need.

If you buy from HDTracks, it is worth the money to buy DBPoweramp.
Everytime my Transporter chokes on a 24-bit stream, it is one from
HDTracks. Incompatible FLAC format and/or compression rate. Re-encode
it through DBPoweramp and problem solved.
It will also downsample a 192 khz purchase down
For future reference, synchronous/asynchronous sounds more like a
description for whether the SRC occurs in real-time or is done
beforehand.
I believe you're referring to is an integer or non-integer
"up/down-sampling factor" or "sampling rate conversion factor".

Having run the network analyzer all afternoon and seeing no glitches,
and having no LONG Ethernet cables on hand I decided to have a CLOSE
look at my system wiring.
Silly me I found a BAD BNC to phono adapter in the digital circuit.
If the Transporter output buffer runs out of data (e.g. due to network
issue) then there will be a buffer underrun signalled.
Are there any messages in the server.log ?
Can you attach a DAC to digital output to test to see if the problem is
in the analog output stage ?

I've just started to experience drop outs or cut outs with my
transporter.
I also experience glitches when some power (AC) switches are operated in
the area.
I have power cycled the transporter.
I'm using WiFi on a channel which has little to no use.
I have other WiFi music players that don't
I think you'll have a hard time finding a DAC that sounds as good as the
Transporter. Even finding one that's a minuscule better will cost a lot
of money. And no, I don't infer that all pricey equipment necessarily
sounds better or even good at all. I know people who have compared the
Transporter
