The last couple of days we are discussing a lot regarding storing/
removing backups. Looks like my first attempt with my script was
completely wrong.
So I am trying to understand the structure BackuPC
The project maintainer says he's just released an update that should resolve
your issues:

These are coming from some error in lines 13 & 14 of

Apologies for rewinding to the beginning of this thread, but the log lines you
posted below would lead me to believe that the docker file failed to install
BackupPC at all: it didn't create the user, it didn't download (or wasn't able
to unpack) the software archive, it didn't create the init sc

"backuppc". If logging out and back in does not fix this, then the
docker installation omitted this step. Creating the user, manually,

probably what you want to keep.
My schedule ends up giving you something like this: ~32 daily backups + a
couple of older ones just in case you need an older file.

The backup is realized, but always finish with the error --> No files dumped
for share base.
If I have backupc configured for two diferents shares, only the first share is
backuped and later stop.
Running: /usr/bin/smbclient
Since converting to BackupPC 4, one file server seems to have gone into a
continual loop of backing up over and over and over... continuously. And this
server takes a long time to backup, so essentially it is always running a
backup on this host.

You can run them manually before attempting to start BackupPC to test if it
solves the problem.

What directory did you place your "checkTempFs" file in?
What file permissions does "checkTempFs" need?
Then finally, simply insert the "checkTempFs" above the "echo -n
"Starting BackupPC: " line?
How are you currently starting BackupPC? If you doing via the daemon mode,
you may want to leave off the -d and start it in the foreground so you can
see the error. I'm guessing your having the issue with the temp file system

The web server user needs to be able to access the backuppc software and

/bin/nmblookup only returns the one address.
