I had some strange problems with bacula.
Main effect:
I am running 3 concurrent jobs every day which use 3 drives. Because of
the "suboptimal" method of picking a drive for a
I followed the docs to the point where the daemons are ok, the tape
tests fine with btape test and the example of backing up and restoring
to the /tmp dir using the File Fileset worked. I now find changes to
bacula-dir.conf have no effect (yes, I always ./bacula restart). Could

Your installation may indeed be 'borked' if that is truely the directory
structure it is installed under. If if not borked, extremely non standard at
least!
I'm guessing you built it from source, which would have involved a 'make
install' step hopefully.

packages.
Thanks to John Goerzen for that great work!
My packages are backports of these packages and are available
through our PackMan repository which has mirrors all over world.

my total backup, also all week I save my volume (backup) in a tape,
but I have a problem, when I copy volume (tape -> disk) I do not
obtain to mount the volume to make restore.

to find it; we don't have much occasion to back up Windows machines.

Are you sure the client can pass through the port 9103 (storage) and 9101 (dir)
and the director (and the storage) is allowed to communicate through the port
9102 of the client ?

the cd is something else. When booting from the rescue cd the
devices were not built. The problem was with the init script below.
The partition.hda script failed the partition the disk. The problem
