it.Can someone tell me if there is any cd+rw+tool available for bacula
just like there is for dvd and where will i be able to get it.

Sorry for the delay.
I've got it working finally.
Following your tip, I had to remove the '-u' and '-p' in the script call.
Then I had a write problem :
I'm backing up to /backup and I had to create a /backup/catalog directory
chowned to bacula:bacula. Once done, everything ran smoothly.
Thanks.
Thanks for the tip, Miki.

Hello Jean,
You need to define a new storage device in the bacula-dir.conf file as
follows, in the DIRECTOR machine:
Director {
Name = first_machine
...
}
Storage {
Name = second_machine
Address = second_machine.com.org

Quick answer: Because that tape is then in the drive, and thus the first
choice to use for Bacula.

I decided to reboot and the machine to reload all the hardware. It started
to work again. I have other issues now but I have put them in another

After much searching, the answer lay in turning off the Prefer Mounted
Volumes in the job definitions. The default setting does not work for
multiple drives.
The Autochanger_Support.html manual page does not mention this (bug
report filed).

Hi,
i was running bacula and then went on vacations. In the meantime due to some

Why is it that when I go to label tapes, and bacula begins its backup it
starts on the last tape I labeled?
Here is the scenario.
I want to relabel some old tapes. So I put tape 1 in slot 1, tape 2 in slot
2 and tape 3 in slot 3. I open the console and do the following commands.
label
Autochan
First of all, this is on a Windows SD, but I was hoping it would work
now. If I'm not doing something dumb I'll probably be abandoning the
Windows SD after this.
The SD rebooted. There may have been a job running when it did, but I
don't think so. Now it says it wants tape #3, which is the o

Hello,
I'm trying to restore some linux files in a nfs share (where the local
root user can not change ownership) and bacula gives a lot of errors
when restoring the backup, like this one:

Hello, too
yes, i got the same0 problems, too with that type.. px506 + 2 LTO3.
meanwhile i can control the drives seperate without problems. but
unloading tapes for example is like russian roulette.
If someone already got a px506 sample config for that one, whould be great.
Thanks a lot

Hi,
is it possible to tell Bacula to check permissions for the tape drive
before an operation? I've just spent like hour searching why bacula is
not working :-) Hopefully I've remembered my first Unix lesson and
checked all the permissions. Bacula RPM added user bacula to group disk

Thanks for the debugging output, it's exactly what's needed. The

Hi,
to help getting you a useful answer I send this to the mailing list,
too... it's much more likely you get useful advice there as I'm not very
experienced reagrding TLS in Bacula, and don't have the time to try
things now...
Anyway, some comments are inline.

Hi,
All weeks I need to unload all tapes from drives to the library, so all
tapes can be removed from the Autochanger easily.
However, when I do "umount", device is marked as BLOCKED and no more
jobs run until I mount the drive again.
What's the right way to eject all tapes without blocking drives
Hi there,
I'm looking for a convenient way to send individual mail reports to
users as soon as his/her particular job(s) have finished. Ideally (for a
non-programmer like me...) this could/should be done by substituting the
recipient's email address variable (%r) defined within a MESSAGE
resource,
