I am trying to use the beaglebone black (in factory default settings) in a

Does anyone have any other thoughts or ideas on these?
Thanks for the help

Hi,
I want to build Qt app that have to run with the 4D-Touch screen cape from

- I've followed the instructions from the Debian installation

You can install Qt on the x86, write an application, debug it etc. Then
upload source files to a target and compile there

I have struggled with every aspect of the BBB.

I can always set the BBB aside while I learn the basics on an easier

Which development board would you recommend for someone brand new to
entire embedded Linux stuff? I think it

IMHO embedded Linux is now not that much different to Linux desktop
systems. I have worked with Linux for many years and it is refreshing
that embedded silicon has now become powerful enough to run a full
fledged Linux system rather than stripped down systems such as uCLinux.
My suggestion is
Sorry, that meant to say Kernel 3.2

I agree with Dave Lambert. Linux is Linux. The only difference is, you're
also most likely going to be playing with different peripherals compared to
say a PC. *Maybe*.
Or more correctly in my own case, Debian is Debian. Which is what I use on
my own BBB. The only differences for me is learning

I dont know if qt 4.8 support mtdev
As I know , only from qt 5 , will support mtdev
What I am sure is from buildroot git tree , you can build qt 5.0 , and
actually , You can modify for build 5.1.1 (I have done this on iMX6 )
Maybe you can have a try
