It's me again. Is Janet Grandstaff out there? Or does anyone know her?
She's the breeder of the new baby Orbo I talked about yesterday. The new
owner says she's just great. Also, if anyone sees Julie Steinheimer and
Babs anytime soon, tell them her boys are doing just great and Tugboat

I have had my 11 week old great dane puppy for two weeks, and she has been
reliably going outside, with no indoor accidents, for 5 days now.
First, IMO, the object is not to catch her and stop her from an accident,
it is to prevent an accident from happening. That means you take pup out

I'm hoping someone in the vast Berner network might be able to help
locate an unknown Canadian breeder. How's that for an opening?
A family who bought a puppy from me five years ago recently moved to
Hurricane, W.Va.: not a Berner hot spot. But about three months ago their vet

Vicky,
I guess I've just known about the Family Reports for so many years that
I never noticed that there is no specific information on the website
about what they are and how to get them! There is a form in the
Berner-Garde Guidebook for ordering reports, but we don't have it
online! So, no, you

Berner-L Members,
My 11 month old berner girl is stubborn beyond belief in very specific
situations. She is stubborn when she sees another dog and wants to play. She
is stubborn when she plays with a dog and she wants to play more. She is
stubborn when she has to leave the park where other owners
I personally use a wide buckle collar, but my Vet/Chiropractor recommends
using a prong collar, she say's a head halter is the worst for a dog's neck
followed by a choke collar. She says a prong collar disburses the tension
over a wider area of the neck and is less likely to displace vertebra.

Please be aware that Elliot was trespassing in the man's fields. If the man
had livestock, it is perfectly legal for him to shoot a dog which worried
(chased) his livestock.
Sara here: It was one thing to shoot a dog that is trespassing, but it is quite
another to deliberately drive the dog's

Yes, I had a feeling that there is something wrong with that man. It was way
beyond protecting livestock when he drove Elliott's owner in the wrong direction
under pretense of helping him find the dog. Sicko, in my mind.

was dog-friendly. Anyone wanting more information on where we stayed or anything else
just drop me an email.

Several trainers have written wonderful accounts of the proper use and
benefits of a prong collar. These collars do look like midevil torture

In working with pet owners for many years, I discovered that a prong

Hi,
When I had my male Akita neutered at 5 months of age (8 years ago, he is
now over the Bridge) he limped for a few days and moaned. The reason for
him being that way my vet at that time said he had to hunt for the 2nd
testicle, which was found near where the leg joins the body. Only one
