I normally do a manual update every day, but I didn't

Take a look at metadata_expire in your /etc/yum.conf. It's probably
1800 which is 30 minutes. As you said, "yum clean all" will clear
this.

Some of this looks like the side effects of running SC as root. If you
want to delete and reinstall, delete everything in
/var/lib/squeezecenter and /usr/share/squeezecenter first.

CC 3.2 is pretty old, but AFAIK SC7 should work with mysql >= 4.1. This
may be a bug in the RPM. What is the exact error message you got

This seems to have the side effect (at least on FF2/Ubuntu) that when SC
is loaded or relaoded, the right side (player) pane briefly displays the
"Your player was not found" message while loading. Nothing major, just
annoying.

Did you do this? The binary perl modules are only shipped for i386 and
x86_64. For ARM, you either need to run build-perl-modules.pl or
install them from some other package repo.

OK. I'm not familiar with the actual error you're seeing, but it seems
like a permissions issue. I've also never used --user and --group but
bug 5035 suggests they are broken. You might want to try running both
SC and the scanner by changing the user with su instea
