Both previous reports were on WIndows? I did a clear and rescan using

Could it be that the scanner always creates/updates the SQLite database
(although some intialization is done for mySQL)? Then when SC looks for
data in the mySQL database that is always empty?

The situation here is not as bad as I thought. I just looked and almost
none of my albums have ID3 tags. I'll have to find out how these came in
there.

bug fix works for the old situation I'll rewrite the tags of a few files
with this new settings and look at the result. As soon as I get the next

My conclusion:
1. It is related to the things discussed in the other thread.
2. Only read the FLAC tags. (And why does MP3Tag not show the other
tags?)
3. The tags MP3Tag doesn't show (like TALB) are in contradiction with
the FLAC tags (Album)

problems in the other thread, but at the moment I don't see them. The

The 7.4.1 rpm testing build in repos.slimdevices.com should be in
/yum/squeezecenter/testing, but it is in /yum/squeezecenter/unstable
along with the unstable build, while the testing folder still contains
7.3.4. Could someone correct this?

I have no problem with how it works now (I mostly use my controller
anyhow). I thought this ought to work in the way I described, but after
reviewing the relevant bug reports it became clear that this has only
worked that way in the Web UI during a very short period.

My problem had something to do with a problem with iTunes (I don't use

Ah, thanks for the info. Kind of strange that this started now: I have
never set any different wallpapers for different players and never seen
this change before. Just have to check how players are coupled to
wallpapers now.

After updating my controller to 7296, it started with a different
wallpaper. After settting it back to Black, I noticed it changes
spontaneously to Encore and back to Black when I walk through the
entries in the Choose Player menu. Curious. Maybe the menus are somehow
coupled.

Here the popup problems were back wit 7259. But now with 7262 all popups
work again; this time without glitches (and last.fm scrobbler on). The
only remaining issues: Album review and Biography > Read biography. Just
have to wait till Michael has time.

Seems they have solved the bug that causes this (will see in the next

I agree. But apparently in those days even a menu option is only a menu
option if it has it's own image :-) Yesterday I scrolled through
thousands of radio stations and guess what: even the most obscure radio
station has it's own logo now. I'm getting too old maybe?

free play of flacs as long as the bitrate was not above 500. Now it
stutters all the time.

Did you install SC SqueezeCenter 7.4 r28182 (or later) on your server? I
see the same when I try to connect to my server with an older SC
version, but it connects to and plays when I switch to the server with
SC 7.4 r28182.

fonts? I do use 120dpi on the machine SC is on, and
the first tab has problems displaying the buttons in the right place. (I
make some small programs that have to work on every machine, so I know
this can be an ugly problem.)
