I'm posting this for Eric Marcum who happens to be living in Moosonee for a
year and maybe even longer if he is lucky! I can only wish I was there.
He found an adult male Mountain Bluebird yesterday (May 8th) in Moosonee. He

On Saturday, May 07, a Boreal Chickadee (BOCH) was observed in a flock
of 20+ Black-capped Chickadees at the Cabot Head Research Station (a
Canadian Migration Monitoring Network member, operated by the Bruce

At Rondeau, the mini-invasion of Yellow-throated Warblers has apparently
expanded from one to two birds. At the same time that one birder was
watching an individual YTWA eating suet at the Visitor Centre (12:10 to 1:00
pm), his friend was observing a YTWA visiting cottage

Just an FYI we heard the Yellow Rail at Sedge Wren Marsh today. It was
calling this morning (along with Soras and an American Bittern) at 11:15 am
just south of the bridge on the east side.

Well a fairly slow day, but some interesting sightings nonetheless.
Here are the highlights...
Prothonotary Warbler - 2-3 males are at Fish Point, its hard to be certain, but
there maybe a 3rd male present
Cerulean Warbler - 2 males were seen together at Sheridan's Point

I spent a good part of the day today birding on Toronto Islands,
covering Ward's Island, Snake Island and the patches of trees along
the frisbee golf course.
By far the best bird of the day was a single FISH CROW calling along
the breakwall to the Eastern Gap at the extreme east end of Ward's
Isla
While sitting having snacks and bevs on the deck of the cottage, Rob Dobos
noticed the immature Pacific loon off our beach. The bird is not too far off
the beach moving south of 1036 Pelee Drive.

Hello Ontbirders.
Our warbler du jour put on a command performance at the Rondeau Visitor
Centre this morning. At 7:10 am, the Yellow-throated Warbler fly-catched
for 15 minutes about the treetops, then descended to the suet feeder.
Yesterday, it was seen at both the Visitor Centre and at various

At 11:00 am today I found YTVI feeding in flowering Norway Maple on south side
of the 'small bowl' just across the road and southeast of the south end of
'large bowl'. There were a really good variety of warblers, most in small
numbers: Yellow-rumped (35); Black-throated Blue (8); Nashville (4)
A pair of gray jays was seen in the white spruce at the corner of Chapman
and McPhail this morning around 9am. Nesting behaviour not observed but they
are secretive.

was a Prothonotary Warbler observed along the canal trail at the Wilkes
Dam on the Grand River in Brantford. The PRWA was foraging low over the
