I hadn't heard much about this bird one way or another for a few days but I was
in the area so I thought I should go take a look. I searched for it around
Klondike Park Rd and Concession 12 from 7:30 to 9:45 yesterday morning with no

Two male and one female wood ducks, sighted late this afternoon at the forth
pond in along Black Creek Trail in Smythe park. Smythe Park is located off of
Scarlett Rd between between the Humber River and St. Clair Ave. West. (Opposite
Lambton Golf and Country Club.)

Hi, I'm currently watching a male Barrow's golden eye among a flock of common
goldeneye.
Directions: Take highway 11 north to the 169 (around Washago), where there is
access to the north end of the lake.

Hello birders. Some more details here on the goldeneye sighting.
This bird was reported two evenings ago on eBird. I arrived at about 4:30pm
today to look for it. It is not worth arriving before 5:15pm though because
some time after that the Goldeneye started streaming in from the north in
This morning I came across a Varied Thrush in the shrubs at the north end of
the dam at Guelph Lake. Guelph Lake is north on Highway 6 from the 401, all the
way through Guelph, and then right on Conservation Road just on the northern
edge of town.
