Count Day started off clear and cold at about -16C at 4:30am in the
morning but warmed up to -4C at around 5:30pm.

a few aggressive Canada Geese on a scant patch of newly exposed grass, on the
south (river) side (along the building wall) of the OMNR District Office in

coming to feeders in Batchewana Bay.
It has been seen at least a couple times a week for approximately 4
months. I last observed it on Sunday March 19th. Visitors are welcome

While participating in the Bon Soo Winter Carnival in Belleview Park, on

A yellow-rumped warbler, that was first observed 3 weeks ago by Stan
Phippen, is still hanging around in the Sault. It was first observed
feeding on bugs, in a sheltered area, along Stan's window ledge (4th floor)
at the Great Lakes Forestry Centre. It has also been observe
re-appear.
About 90 percent of the river is still ice-covered but the warm days ahead
will surely open things up.
