There is a juvenile Western Sandpiper at Wildwood Lake, north Oxford County,

seen by multiple observers today. The reported location is the 31st line berm

Hello Ontbirders,
Last evening Rich Poort and Bob Curry independently found an adult Western
Sandpiper at Windermere Basin in Hamilton. The bird has been seen again
this morning.
Most of Windermere Basin is closed to public access and the bird is tricky
to see from publicly-accessible vantage
Greetings Ontbirders
The Western Sandpiper is still being seen on beach 2/3. Roughly 400 birds still
on beach with Sanderling being the most numerous. The first 2 Dunlin and a
Short-billed Dowitcher has also joined in.
A couple of Stilt Sandpipers and a few Lesser Yellowlegs can be found at
Just a lil heads up that the Western continues at Presqu’ile Park as of
noon today (3 September). Hundreds of shorebirds are concentrated between
beach 2 and 3, providing great study. A Merlin is making the occasional
pass or two, but the shorebirds return in little time.
Good birding,

I wasn't able to confirm the sighting until I got home tonight and examined
the few photos I got. The Western was in with a small flock of Semipalmated
Sandpipers on Beach 3 late this afternoon. I had spotted it in the flock
and was suspicious but the light was harsh and they immediately flew a

The Western Sandpiper was again located feeding near Owen Pt again today. A
Peregrine and a Merlin had the birds moving so some patience will be needed to
re-locate the Western. All other peeps and a couple of Red Knots were also

Hi there,

Hi there,
Sarah Lamond and I refound the Western Sandpiper tonight just before sunset

A few good birds are in the Rondeau Birding Area today.
The WESTERN SANDPIPER continues at Blenheim Sewage Lagoons. Today I saw it

Hi all,
I haven’t seen any posts yet today about the bird so I thought I should get the

Hi Ontbirders,
The juv. Western Sandpiper is still showing well in the Beach 3 area, along
with previously mentioned adult Golden Plover, and 5 Baird’s, but has also
been joined by a bright juv. Long-billed Dowitcher - a very early date for a
juv here. It was also in the Beach 3 area.
This morning shortly after I arrived at the lagoons at 9:50am, I spotted a
Western Sandpiper foraging alongside a Least Sandpiper. At a scanning glance I
presumed it was a SemipSand due to larger size and dark legs, but I quickly
noticed the extra long bill, and rufous cheek, top of head, and
