Another alternative is to buy a USB plug in sound card. I have a Turtle Beech USB sound device and I can instruct JAWS to issue through that device rather than the native sound card. Then I can listen to on-line radio etc. and have my JAWS speech channeled through the Turtle Beech sound card

Donny, it could be that you tried to install SP3 via Windows Update. I'm aware on some machines that it can cause issues, so you may want to hunt for an offline iso image containing SP3. An iso image allows you to burn the files in the image to a CD/DVD so you can install that way. To check
